In the mid-thirties of the 19th Century their Holinesses Shri. Tarachanji Maharaj Saab, Sri. Krishnalalji Maharaj Saab and Sri. Sowbhagchanji Maharaj Saab visited Madras and emphasized in their discourses the need and importance of imparting the right type of education to the younger generation irrespective of Caste, Creed, and Religion. Their Holinesses exhorted the Jain Community in this part of the country to establish an organization for providing educational facilities to the younger generation.

The teachings and religious discourses of holy monks and nuns motivated and influenced a number of persons like Shri Mohanmulji Chordia, Shri Inderchandji Galada, Shri Jabarchandji Galada, Shri Tarachandji Galada, Shri Roopchandji Khivasara, Shri Mangichandji Bhandari, Shri Jaswanthmallji Chordia, and others to start educational institutions and as a result Sri. Swethambar Stanakwasi Jain Educational Society was formed on the 10th November 1937, with the objective of establishing and managing educational institutions. The society was registered under the Societies Registration Act on 8th September 1938.

Sri Agurchand Manmull Jain College
In 1952, Her Holiness Sr. Sayar Kanwarji Maharaj in the course of her Chathurmasya Discourses gave a call to the Jain Community for providing facilities for Higher Education to the new generation. Sri. Mohanmullji Chordia came forward with a munificent donation of Rupees Two Lakhs for starting a college. Agurchand Manmull Jain College, named after the Chief Donor's ancestors, was inaugurated on the 25th June 1952 by then Governor of Madras His Excellency Shri. Sri Prakash.

The College has a rich legacy. Established in 2005, with a generous contribution made by Smt. Sundarbai Shankarlal Charitable Trust, T. Nagar, Chennai of the SHASUN Family and Group, institution provides a unique opportunity to young women for quality higher education. In this, they were abetted by the founders, who were independent-minded with a deep concern for the quality of education they wished to impart. These attributes of total dedication have contributed in a large measure to the position of distinction occupied by the college. The College management is committed to creating an atmosphere in which the zest for learning thrives and students have trained not only academically but also to be women of convictions and values.
Shri Mohanmull Chordia Jain Industrial Training Centre

In 1984, the society established the Mohanmull Chordia Jain Industrial Training Centre with the objective of offering effective and purposeful craftsmen training. Craftsmen training to be meaningful and relevant to the industry should be skill-oriented. This training center aims to prepare you for suitable jobs in the industry. Each program enables the participants to acquire specific skills for specific jobs.
Shri Amoluckchand Galada Jain Higher Secondary School

In appreciation of the great services rendered and generous donation given to the cause of Education by late Shree Inderchandji Galada, the school was named "Shree Amolukchand Galada Jain High School" in November 1940 in memory of his father late Sri Amolukchandji Galada. The Management which had been anxious to provide the school with a building of its own, ever since it was started, took up the construction of its new building at 10, (Old) Tholasingam Street in 1945 and executed it as expeditiously as possible.
